Part of Sol du Mazel
Rustic charm, wood-burning stove, a granite kitchen overlooking the meadow. Two bedrooms sleeping up to four.
Hope Cottage
Hope Cottage is the quieter, cosier half of Sol du Mazel — a contrast in character to Rose Barn's barn-conversion drama. The rendered stone walls, the flagged floor at the entrance, the cast-iron wood-burning stove: it feels like a house that has been lived in and loved.
The kitchen has been updated to a clean granite finish with a full induction range, and the open-plan downstairs looks out over the meadow and play areas. In the evenings, with the wood burner lit and the children finally exhausted, it is where you want to be.
Two bedrooms sleep up to four. The bathroom has both a full-length bath and a large walk-in shower — a detail that those with young children tend to notice and appreciate.
Inside Hope Cottage
Sleeping
A large double bed with a sumptuous mattress and wrought iron frame. Combination duvet — 4, 9 or 13 tog — so it works in any season. Can accommodate a travel cot for a baby. Quiet and light, overlooking the meadow.
Two wrought-iron single beds. Spacious and peaceful. The room can accommodate two blow-up beds on the floor for children if needed, making it work for a family of four in Hope Cottage alone.
What's in Hope Cottage
Always together
In July and August, Hope Cottage and Rose Barn are let together as a single booking — the whole property is yours. Outside peak season, Hope Cottage is also available individually for a single group of up to four.
Many groups find Hope Cottage works beautifully for grandparents or a couple travelling with a larger family group, while Rose Barn accommodates the rest. The connecting door keeps you as close or as separate as you like.
